Due to climatic change, new ways for the production of sustainable fuels are being investigated and one is to use sunlight to recycle CO2, combine it with water and convert it into hydrocarbon-based fuels.
However, although this concept is very attractive, this process, often called artificial photosynthesis, is not yet viable due to the reduced efficiencies of CO2 photo-conversion.
Nevertheless, the enormous potential of artificial photosynthesis is actively promoting research in this area, in order to achieve much more attractive hydrocarbon productions.

Tests related to photosynthesis can be carried out in specialized climatic chamber to check their characteristics.
