Wood as additive manufacturing

A Swedish Company specialized in doors and windows, uses a 3D BLB printing machine with different bio-composites. Bio-composites are products of plant origin such as wood, straw, cork, etc., mixed with a polymer. They are capable of printing 2,5 x 1,5 m. It currently offers materials with 50% wood fibers and 50% PP (polypropylene). In the future, it will be tried to reduce the proportion of plastic materials and increase those of plant origin.

Tests related to wood can be carried out in specialized climatic chamber to check their characteristics.
